WWF's 2007/8 "Education for Sustainable Development" Programmes Opened for Application
WWF has long been making the strongest efforts in promoting a variety of "Education for Sustainable Development" programmes in Hong Kong and South China regions, with the aims to enhance people's understanding and awareness of our natural environment, as well as realizing the inter-relationships between the environment and social and economic development.
"Learning IN the environment" is an effective strategy for sustainable development education. Open-air classrooms like Mai Po Nature Reserve, Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park and Island House not only enrich students' learning experience, but also help to increase their awareness about the natural environment and understand the human-environment relationship.
WWF will accept applications for the 2007/8 Mai Po, Hoi Ha Wan and Island House (Tai Po) Secondary/Primary School Education Programmes from 1 June 2007, secondary and primary schools in Hong Kong are eligible to apply for our education programmes. If you are a school principal or teacher, please visit our website on 1 June or afterward to download corresponding application forms and other related information.
In view of the limited quota available for each programme, all applications will be processed on a first-come-first-served basis. For any enquiries, please contact Ms Yvonne Wan, WWF's Administration Officer on 2652-0285 or via e-mail [ywan@wwf.org.hk].
