JPC Environmental Badge Scheme

In early June, 36 JPC (Junior Police Call) advanced leaders participated in a WWF-guided snorkeling activity in Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park as the last training session of the "JPC Environmental Badge Scheme" Phase 1. It was an unforgettable experience for the participants because they had a personal touch to the amazing marine environment and inhabiting wildlife!

With generous donations from The Hongkong Bank Foundation, WWF has provided the technical support to the Police Public Relations Branch to develop a two-year pilot scheme for the JPC Environmental Badge. The 36 advanced leaders finished a series of trainings which include seminars, tutorials, field trips and voluntary work from March to June this year, to gain a wide range of knowledge on both local and global environmental issues and techniques in organizing environmental education activities. In the forthcoming Phase 2, they will be responsible for training 400 JPC leaders by assisting WWF staff in carrying out an environmental education programme in Mai Po. They will also take the lead in the planning and implementation of another field trip for the JPC leaders.
