According to UNESCO, education for sustainable development (ESD) is a dynamic and expansive undertaking that envisions a world where every person has the chance to benefit from educational opportunities and to learn the lifestyles, behaviours and values necessary to create a sustainable future.
To stimulate the synergy between WWF and local schools in Hong Kong, WWF developed the “Seed of Nature – School-based Education for Sustainable Development Programme” with six primary schools

1.The project was a 1 year project since 2006.
2.an ESD education pack was developed which include a bird migration game, comprehensive lesson plans on ESD developed by the 6 schools.
The programme promoted linking concepts of ESD to the local primary school curriculum, in order to better articulate ESD at a local level.

The four-phase project involved building up primary school capacity for ESD, with teachers, students and parents, as key strategic mechanisms in achieve these goals.
