Wetland Manager Training Programme

Held at the Mai Po Nature Reserve, the HSBC Wetland Management Training Programme promotes awareness of the value of wetland ecosystems and teaches the necessary skills to better manage wetlands and wetland reserves. Mai Po serves as an ideal case study to present effective wetland management practice and environmental education. The programme first commenced in 1991, and has received generous sponsorship from HSBC since 1998. Participants from all around East Asia take part in this renowned conservation programme, which includes over 12 training courses and 2-5 study tours per year.

South China Wetlands Programme

The South China Wetlands Programme is an Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) initiative with the objective of raising awareness about the wise use of wetland resources and conservation in the South China region. Running since 2005 with generous backing from HSBC, this collaborative programme offers training for local educators and reserve staff. The programme also further enhances environmental education infrastructure by building education facilities while developing and promoting formal ESD programmes for local schools.
