LCMP

The Low Carbon Manufacturing Programme (LCMP) aims at reducing carbon emissions generated by manufacturing facilities in the Pearl River Delta (PRD) and developing environmental social governance for those manufacturers. The PRD constitutes about 30% of the total value of China's exports and represents the world's highest concentration of manufacturing infrastructure. According to research conducted by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries in 2007, there were 55,000 Hong Kong invested factories in PRD.
LCMP - Factory
With the generous sponsorship from Green Dragon Fund, WWF Hong Kong has developed the LCMP with two renowned technical consultants, comprising a carbon accounting and labeling system. This aims to provide manufacturers with a measurement of their effectiveness in reducing carbon emissions and equip them with best practice in greenhouse gas management. By first engaging factories operated by Hong Kong companies as well as their international customers, our goal is to ensure that the low-carbon manufacturing practices are properly learned and implemented along the supply chain, in line with the national energy saving plan in mainland China.
