About WWF Hong Kong - Our Work

Education

Education is one of our key tools in pursuing our objectives. Every year our education and awareness programmes reach over 140,000 students, teachers and members of the general public in Hong Kong.

Our education priorities include:

  • developing environmental education programmes for primary and secondary schools.
  • producing and donating to schools, environmental educational materials for students and teachers. Over 100 information pamphlets, education kits, posters, slide packs, booklets and films have been produced over the past 15 years.
  • educating the general public on the wise use of nature and natural resources.
  • organising tours for students and the general public to visit our Mai Po Marshes Wildlife Education Centre and Nature Reserve and our Island House Conservation Studies Centre. Over 35,000 people participate in our Mai Po visit programmes every year.
  • organising teacher seminars and workshops to provide in-service training for teachers to carry out environmental education in schools.
