Wise Use Zone

This zone allows the existing wetlands to be used in an ecologically sustainable manner, e.g. pond fish farming, as long as it is compatible with the goals of the Ramsar Site.

The purpose of the Wise Use Zone is to allow ecologically sustainable use of wetlands and other natural resources to be carried out in a way compatible with the Ramsar site management goals and objectives and, where appropriate, to be encouraged and promoted. The Wise Use Zone also provides a buffering function additional and complementary to that provided by buffering zones outside the Ramsar site.
