Mai Po Green Food Market

The Objective of WWF Hong Kong Green Food Market is to:

Produce safe and quality food while balancing our ecosystem, re-establish the inter-relationship between human, food and ecology, and encourage Hong Kong people to continue supporting the ecological effort made by local farmers and freshwater farmers.

Why choose Green Food?

1.

Freshness
All produces are locally grown, so can reach the markets without long journey and thus stay fresh.

2.

Nutrition Value and Taste
Organic vegetables are rich in vitamins, minerals and cellulose with comparatively less moisture; while freshwater fish are reared with healthy feed, therefore they are nutritious, tasty and durable.

3.

Healthiness
All produces contain no agrochemical or chemical fertilizer and have not been genetically engineered, therefore is harmless to human.

4.

Environmental Protection
No agrochemical, chemical fertilizer or growth stimulate substances are added, and farming with traditional practices thus cause no harmful to the environment.
