The Race, inaugurated in 1984, aimed to
buy up Mai Po gei wais for management and build bird hides. Fund
raised this year will be used for continuing our management works
at Mai Po. The temporary closure of Mai Po Nature Reserve to
the visitors has seriously impact our financial situation with
an estimated loss of HK$500,000 per month, notwithstanding other
fundraising events that are supposed to be carrying out in Mai
Po.
