WWF Invites Everyone to Join our Earth Hour 2014 Countdown Event

The world’s largest environmental action, Earth Hour, is now only eight days away! Hong Kong will demonstrate our commitment to becoming Asia's most sustainable city as we join 152 countries around the globe in turning off all non-essential lights on Saturday 29 March at 8:30pm. Everyone can show their support not only by switching off the lights for one hour at the appointed time, but also by attending WWF’s countdown event with Earth Hour ambassadors Ms Kay Tse, Ms Miriam Yeung and Ms Kandy Wong and witness as the iconic waterfront of Victoria Harbour grows dark.

This year, the Earth Hour countdown event will be held at the Central and Western District Promenade (Central Section) Viewing Platform No.1. Everyone is welcome to join us and enjoy the stunning views as one of the most popular string quartets in Hong Kong, the Romer Quartet, provides a soundtrack to the countdown. Our ambassadors Ms Kay Tse, Ms Miriam Yeung and Ms Kandy Wong will then usher in the critical Earth Hour moment – 8:30pm.

WWF is also organizing a “Give Up for the Darkness” Earth Hour Photo Competition with one of our media partners, Yahoo. We invite all professional, amateur and budding photographers to join this contest and capture the spirit of Earth Hour in their stunning photographs.
