Freshwater Pond Vegetation Management Trial using Asian Water Buffalo Bubalus bubalis at Mai Po Nature Reserve

Asian Water Buffalo was introduced to the Mai Po Nature Reserve in 2006 as a trial to help freshwater pond management. Studies to investigate the ecological impact and potential economic benefit of grazing on the ecology and management of the freshwater ponds at MPNR were conducted.
