WWF-Hong Kong appoints Dr. Bosco Chan as Director, Conservation

(Hong Kong - 19 September 2022) WWF-Hong Kong is pleased to announce that Dr. Bosco Chan will join the organization as Director, Conservation, effective on 3 October 2022. Dr. Chan will report directly to Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Nicole Wong.

Prior to joining WWF, Dr. Chan served Kadoorie Farm & Botanic Garden (KFBG) from 2001 to 2022 to lead the Kadoorie Conservation China Department. Dr. Chan has extensive experience in strategic conservation planning and he has been leading protected area management in Mainland China for decades. He spearheaded the conservation work on the Hainan Gibbon since 2003 and was invited to be the Deputy Director of Yinggeling National Nature Reserve since 2006 for over 10 years. Dr. Chan has published over 90 peer-reviewed scientific papers, covering various areas including biodiversity survey, conservation and status review of endangered species, ecological and taxonomic research.

This role is critical in driving forward-looking conservation strategies, developing and implementing our key conservation initiatives and ensuring integration and alignment across WWF-Hong Kong to achieve conservation impact locally and globally.”
