WWF-Hong Kong has designed a specific programme of improvement work and activities that will allow us to reach out to communities that would not normally have the opportunity to visit Mai Po, including people with special needs. The aim is to bring these communities to the Reserve and provide them with a unique experience of nature which is tailored to their needs.

To facilitate these visits, the Reserve’s core infrastructure will be enhanced to ensure a safe and comfortable user experience, while wildlife trails and other areas will be improved and our nature interpreters given special training. The programme will connect over 5,500 people with special needs and their carers with Mai Po, a process expected to involve over 1,000 volunteers.
