This programme was designed for uniform group leaders, particularly those guiding junior members between the ages of 8 to 14. The aim of the programme was to enhance the leaders’ ability to organize marine-focussed educational activities and support their efforts to spread the conservation message to the younger generation.

The MELT programme was divided into two parts: Marine Education and Training Workshop for Uniform Group Leaders, and Marine Education Programme for Junior Uniform Group Members. Starting in 2008, the programme was embarked on with The Scout Association of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Girl Guides Association and other uniform groups in Hong Kong, and met with great success. 66 leaders have participated and 33 group tours for junior members were organised .
