WWF’s Earth Hour 2011: Mosaic Photo Competition-- "Piece Together, Show our Future"

Earth Hour 2011, the annual ‘Lights Out’ event, will take place on Saturday 26 March 2011 at 8:30pm. WWF-Hong Kong continues its participation in the global event for the third consecutive year. The theme this year is “Consume wisely — Go beyond the hour!”.

Earth Hour 2011, the annual ‘Lights Out’ event, will take place on Saturday 26 March 2011 at 8:30pm. WWF-Hong Kong continues its participation in the global event for the third consecutive year. The theme this year is “Consume wisely — Go beyond the hour!”.

Hong Kong citizens can now show their concern and support the Earth by participating the Earth Hour 2011’s photo competition, which the winning work will become the mosaic base photo of Earth Hour 2011’s mosaic activity.

The meaning behind this activity is a metaphor, for the collective efforts contributed by the whole community towards rebuilding a ‘living planet’. Members of the public can join Earth Hour 2011’s mosaic activity by uploading their photos to http://wwf.org.hk/earthhourmosaic, which will become part of the mosaic photo. The webpage is sponsored by Canon Hongkong Company Limited.

If you want your picture to become a mosaic base photo for Earth Hour 2011’s mosaic activity, let’s be creative and photograph as many ways as you can, on “how to consume wisely in daily life”, to join the competition. The five finalists will receive a WWF Panda (15cm). As for the winner, not only the winning photo will become the theme image of Earth Hour 2011’s mosaic activity, he/ she will be invited to bring along at most three friends to Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park to join WWF’s glass-bottomed boat trip, and get a close-up view of the local marine life.

Participants can send the original image to earthhour@wwf.org.hk with their name, contact number, photo title and description (less than 100 words). Images should in JPG format and have a minimum screen size of 768px (Width) X 1024px (Height). Deadline of submissions is 11 March 2011.
