Volunteer Recruitment: Clean Up Action on 30 Aug(Full)!
WWF’s experts conducted another assessment in the Po Toi Island group last week after Typhoon Kai Tak passed by Hong Kong and found a substantial amount of plastic pellets had washed ashore, while some had been washed back to the sea. WWF is organizing another cleanup action on 30 Aug (Thur) at Po Toi/ Beaufort Island/ Tung Lung Island...

Location: Po Toi / Beaufort Island/ Tung Lung Island
Time: 9.00 am – 5:00 pm
Meeting time and location: 8:45am at Shau Kei Wan Public Pier (Sai Wan Ho MTR Exit A, near Grand Promenade)
This is a TOUGH mission, to sign up as a volunteer, you have to be:
- physically fit;
- a decent swimmer;
- no chronic diseases (e.g. heart condition)
- able to withstand sunlight and hot weather for 3 hours
- able to withstand up to 2-hour ferry ride
- able to have enough rest the night before
Remarks:
- Prepare your own lunch and sufficient water
- Bring along sun cream, hat, sunglasses, umbrella, sandals and clean clothes
- Wear shoes that can get into water and protect your ankle and toes
