Dr Bosco CHAN |
Dr Bosco Chan joined WWF-Hong Kong as the Conservation Director in October, 2022.
Prior to joining WWF-Hong Kong, Dr Chan served Kadoorie Farm & Botanic Garden (KFBG) from 2001 to 2022 to lead conservation projects in Mainland China, with extensive experience in strategic conservation planning and protected area management. He spearheaded the conservation work on the Hainan Gibbon since 2003 and was invited by the Hainan Government to be the Deputy Director of Yinggeling National Nature Reserve for over 10 years.
Dr Chan received his PhD from the University of Hong Kong, studying the ecology and sustainability of Hong Kong’s lowland rivers, and has published over 90 peer-reviewed scientific papers, covering areas such as biodiversity survey, conservation and status review of endangered species, ecological and taxonomic research.
Dr Chan will bring great value and share new perspective to drive greater conservation impact, implement key initiatives to WWF-Hong Kong. He will also lead the conservation team to shape WWF-Hong Kong’s future direction on important regional and local conservation issues such as Northern Metropolis development.
