Legacy Giving – A Gift of Love for Nature

Legacy is one of the most treasured gifts you can give, sustaining conservation efforts and shaping a better future for generations to come. Regardless of the size of your planned gift, your contribution creates a lasting impact by protecting nature and supporting communities to build a more sustainable world.

Your legacy giving is more than a gift in a will or an insurance policy — it is a powerful expression of love for our planet. When we pause and breathe in the beauty of the forests, feel the calm of the ocean, or listen to birdsong at dawn, we’re reminded of how deeply nature enriches our lives.

Through legacy and policy giving, your values can live on. Your lasting gift will help preserve the natural world and inspire future generations to respect and care for the environment.

We invite you to be part of this meaningful journey with WWF. By planning a legacy today, you can help safeguard both people and nature—for today, and for generations to come.

Include WWF in your Will and make a lasting difference!

Your love for nature can live on. Your legacy can protect the Earth.

How to Include WWF in Your Will?

Leaving a legacy or donation gift to WWF in your Will is a meaningful way to protect nature for future generations. Follow these steps to get started:

Step 1: Decide the Type of Gift

Choose how you would like to support WWF:

  • Residual gift – A percentage of the remaining estate after other gifts
  • Pecuniary gift – A fixed sum of money
  • Specific gift - A particular item of property or other gifts
  • Policy gift – State WWF-Hong Kong as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy, to donate the whole or a percentage of the sum assured to us.

Step 2: Speak with Your Family (Optional but Recommended)

Let your loved ones know about your intention. This helps ensure your wishes are understood and respected.

Step 3: Gather WWF-Hong Kong Details

You will need the official legal information of WWF to include in your Will. For WWF-Hong Kong, typically you need:

  • Beneficiary Organisation Full Name: World Wide Fund For Nature Hong Kong
  • Organization Address: 15/F Manhattan Centre, 8 Kwai Cheong Road, Kwai Chung, New Territories, Hong Kong
  • Certificate of Incorporation Number: 106759

Step 4: Prepare Your Will Writing

Drafting a Will is complex and requires legal expertise. Consult a qualified practising lawyer to ensure your wishes are properly protected in your Will and your gift is executed to support WWF.

Alternatively, you can contact WWF’s collaborator “ForeverGift” a social enterprise organisation that helps provide free consultation and professional Will-writing service by a qualified practising lawyer in Hong Kong.

ForeverGift will create your Will free of charge if you donate a legacy gift that is worth HK$10,000 or more to WWF Hong Kong. The process is simple:

  • Register your submission to Forever Gift and donate an ‘Early Gift’ of HK$5,000 to WWF-Hong Kong
  • ForeverGift will contact you requesting the completion of the “Will Intention Form” after the early gift confirmation.
  • From the “Will Intention Form”, ForeverGift will assign a qualified practising lawyer to draft your Will, and schedule you to meet at the lawyer’s office for the official signing and witnessing of your Will
  • If you wish to add a codicil (amendment) to your existing Will, you will need to contact the assigned lawyer and ForeverGift at your earliest convenience.

The above steps ensure your gift is legally valid and properly worded to your wish.

Step 5: Include Suggested Wording in Your Will

Your lawyer may use wording like:

I give to World Wide Fund For Nature Hong Kong the sum of [amount / % of estate], to be used for its general charitable purposes.

You can also specify if you prefer your gift to support a particular conservation area or program.

Step 6: Keep Your Will Updated

Review your Will periodically, especially after major life events such as:

  • Marriage or divorce
  • Birth of children
  • Significant changes in assets

Step 7: Inform WWF (Optional)

You are not required to, but letting WWF know allows us to:

  • Thank you for your support
  • Keep you informed about our conservation work
  • Ensure your intentions are properly understood

Step 8: Store Your Will Safely

Keep your Will in a secure place and ensure your executor knows where to find it.

✅ Final Tip

Even a small gift can make a lasting asd impact on nature, wildlife and ecosystems. Planning ahead ensures your values continue to make a difference to the natural world.
