Professor David Dudgeon
Professor Dudgeon has more than 30 years’ experience as a teacher and researcher, and is the author of over 200 scientific papers, numerous book chapters and several books on freshwater ecology and biodiversity conservation - mainly dealing with tropical Asia. His books include Tropical Asian Streams (1999), The Ecology and Biodiversity of Hong Kong (2005 & 2011; published in English and Chinese), and an edited collection, Tropical Stream Ecology (2008).
In 2000, Professor Dudgeon was awarded the Biwako Prize in Ecology by the Japanese government. He is a member of a variety of international advisory boards and scientific committees, and is Editor-in-Chief of the peer-reviewed journal Freshwater Biology.
